Mission Statement

The mission of the Bronx Center for Social Work Education is to increase access to training, continuing education, and professional development for social work students, practitioners, and instructors in the Bronx and surrounding under-served communities.  The Consortium will collaborate with service providers, clients, social service agencies, and educational institutions to provide current, evidence-based, culturally sensitive education spanning the continuum from theory to implementation of best practices to promote social, economic, and environmental justice. 

Activities of the Consortium will include the following:

• outreach to clients and service providers to identify unmet education needs

• collaboration with disciplines outside of social work to provide an interdisciplinary perspective

• didactic and experiential interdisciplinary trainings, conferences, and presentations to educate providers and concerned community members

• provision of culturally sensitive and culturally relevant continuing education

• provision of materials summarizing evidence-based practices and relevant resources
